Sign in to e-Civil Registers
Open the service through e-Citizens and sign in with an available credential.

Choose the person
For your own record, continue as yourself; for a minor child, use the ‘Change subject’ option.

Choose the record type
Choose an e-Birth Certificate, e-Proof of Citizenship, birth-register extract or another available record.

Download the electronic record
Download the record from the service, User Inbox or email, depending on your choice.

Important notes
- The service provides records from data already held in civil registers; it does not correct incorrect or incomplete data.
- For a minor child, first select the child with the ‘Change subject’ option.
Common mistakes
- Downloading the wrong document type, for example a birth certificate instead of a birth-register extract.
- A parent remains signed in as themself when requesting a document for a child.
- Not saving the document after issue and later having to request it again.
