Distinguish a domestic new vehicle from a vehicle from abroad
For a new vehicle bought from a dealer in Croatia, the dealer calculates and pays the special motor-vehicle tax; a vehicle from abroad first goes through separate conformity and taxation procedures.
Prepare the invoice, conformity document and insurance
For a new vehicle bought in Croatia, prepare the invoice, declaration of conformity and power of attorney if the owner does not attend. A new vehicle does not undergo technical inspection at first registration.
Register the vehicle at an inspection station
The station completes registration; pay applicable obligations and collect the registration certificate and plates.
