Identity card or another document for identity verification

Prepare your documents and photo
For an in-person application, prepare an identity document, a biometric photo and your previous passport if you have one.

Submit it at a police administration or police station that handles administrative matters.

In the regular procedure, choose in-person collection or delivery in Croatia. A passport issued urgently must be collected in person.

Sign in to e-Citizens
Start the passport e-Application and sign it with the qualified electronic signature on your identity card.

Pay through e-Fees
Choose in-person collection or delivery in Croatia and pay the applicable amount.

Wait for confirmation
The Ministry of the Interior checks whether the online application is complete within three working days.

Collect your passport
In the regular procedure, choose in-person collection or delivery in Croatia. A passport issued urgently must be collected in person.

An urgent application in Zagreb cannot be submitted at police stations that are part of Zagreb Police Administration.
Passport delivery is available only in the regular procedure and only to an address in Croatia.
A person aged 12 or older must be present for an in-person application to sign and provide fingerprints.
People staying abroad for an extended period must use the procedure through the competent diplomatic-consular office.

The photo does not meet the requirements for a biometric passport.
The previous passport is not brought to the in-person application.
The payment uses the wrong personal identification number for the person receiving the passport.
The online application is started without a previously issued passport or a suitable electronic identity card.
An urgent application is submitted at a police station in Zagreb that is not competent for it.
